34th Annual  South Carolina Peanut Party

"Peanuts, Popcorn, and Baseball"

Announcing Our Parade Grand Marshalls:

Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Team & 'Blowie'

This year we are excited to have the opportunity to showcase the Lexington County Blowfish Baseball team!  Blowie, owner, Bill Shanahan, and team members are our Parade Grand Marshalls.  Blowie will be on the festival grounds Saturday afternoon for photos with the kids.

The Peanut Party has been an annual August event for 34 years. Our local townsfolk, as well as those from the surrounding Lexington County area, look forward to it as entertainment for their families - alcohol free, music, food, parade, amusements, crafts, and special exhibits. Lexington County residents have come to trust that we provide a safe & secure place to relax and enjoy the festivities. We hope visitors to this event, including former residents of the town, former High School students, and hundreds of those who have helped build our Town and community, are pleased to see how much Pelion has grown - its businesses, schools and industry. Our promotion of the Boiled Peanut benefits the local peanut farmers and we highlight it as the official SC State Snack Food.

The Peanut Party Steering Committee involves local business leaders and community organizations to help make this event happen.  We say Thank-you to these folks: Ruritan's, Pelion Woman's Club, IGA, Walker Hardware, The Smoak House Restaurant, Pelion Schools and especially the Pelion Community Center.
